Bruce Gammell, M.A.

Head of School

The vision for Christ Church Academy is to make disciples who follow Jesus Christ with an emphasis on faith, scholarship, service, and civics. As the parish school of Christ Church Vero Beach, we provide a distinctively Christian education that forms students to be champions of truth living lives transformed by the love and power of God. Our rigorous academics are framed within a safe and nurturing environment that serves to develop the whole child. In addition to imparting knowledge and skills to their minds, we integrate Biblical principles into every subject in order to provide opportunities for spiritual formation to shape their hearts, minds, and souls. Our teachers are state certified by the Florida Department of Education. CCA is fully accredited by Christian Schools of Florida (CSF) and the National Council of Private School Accrediation. Additionally, we offer a dynamic social structure that allows extended family members to participate in our school community because we recognize the importance of family enrichment. We build in special opportunities throughout the school year that bring families together to celebrate learning and love, such as the Christmas Eve family service, Donuts with Dads, Trunk or Treat, and The Mother's Day Breakfast. We know many families are involved in other area churches and we applaud your commitment to spiritual growth. For any who do not already have a church home, please know you are always welcome to worship with us on Sundays at 10:30 am or for the brief CCA Chapel service each Thursday at 9:30 am. Furthermore, the clergy of Christ Church are available to you should you ever have a pastoral or prayer need. Our staff is committed to academic excellence and the application of the truth of God’s Word to every aspect of life. Meet the Lower School Teachers

KINDERGARTEN

Audra Reeder

Mrs. Reeder begins her fifth year with Christ Church Academy in August and her first year in our Lower School. She holds a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Ashford University and multiple state certifications. She loves CCA and is excited for the future.

ART

Diana Carroll

“CCA is wonderful place to teach, learn, and grow in faith. The leadership and staff members are highly supportive of one another, which enables us to succeed in our profession and meet the needs of all our students.” Mrs. Diana Carroll holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, from Rutgers University, and a Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Education, from Monmouth University.

FIRST GRADE

Theresa Cory

Mrs. Cory holds a B.S. in Education from The College of Saint Rose, in Albany, NY and a certification in Special Education from Western Connecticut State University. After 30 years of teaching, she recently moved to Florida and is excited to be teaching first grade at CCA.

SECOND GRADE

Jennifer Munson

After a 15-year career in finance, Mrs. Munson chose to pursue a career in education and holds an M.A. in Literacy Instruction. Her experience includes multiple grade levels in NJ where she taught before moving to Vero Beach in 2021. She joins CCA this year and is excited to guide her students to be thoughtful, confident, and solid critical thinkers.

MUSIC

Debra Watkins

Mrs. Watkins has been teaching music at Christ Church Academy for three years, while also directing the annual Children’s Christmas Eve Celebration, and teaching Sunday School. Before coming to Christ Church, Mrs. Watkins taught music for 30 years in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools and at Coral Gables Congregational Church. Mrs. Watkins holds a B.S. in Music Education Grades K-12 from Florida International University.
